| | Gene Coleman has invited an international round of musicians and musicologists to his conference. The theme of this encounter will be the dichotomies of composition / improvisation and solo music / ensemble music in musical developments throughout the world.
The conference will have the character of an event with talks, discussions, examples of music and sounds, and live-music performances. The precise course of events will be determined in co-operation with the participants. Prepared statements will be just as decisive here as improvisation. Hence, the project will move between sense perception and theoretical reflection.
