Duma Kumalo from South Africa is one of the Sharpeville Six who were wrongly sentenced to death during the Apartheid regime. 15 hours before the scheduled execution the sentence was commuted to life in prison due to great international pressure. After his release, Kumalo fought unsuccessfully for rehabilitation and a retrial. As a human rights activist, Duma committed himself to promoting the healing process in post-Apartheid communities in South Africa. He has also acted in several Doku-Performances. At InTransit he can be seen in 'He Left Quietly'.
