Although she is only 22 years old, Sara Tavares has already made quite an impression on the Portuguese music scene. With a Portuguese and Cape-Verdian background, and the entire world in her voice, she is considered one of the best singers in her own country.
On her first CD, Sara Tavares & Shout, she combined gospel music, soul, funk and pop with her wonderful voice and her unique interpretations. And with her latest album Mi Ma Bô, on which she sings in Portuguese, Creole and English, she shows what a universal language music is. She composes all her material: the product of a long phase of introspection, in which she withdrew from the public eye. Her voice is a link to her feelings, expressing the lyrics and the melody.
