"Undesirable Elements" is a theatre project that explores the role of migration, history, culture and ethnicity in individual lives. The American director Ping Chong has produced the project over the past 10 years in over 15 cities including Washington, New York, Seattle, Rotterdam, and Tokyo. Now the work is being recreated in Berlin: in collaboration with people who have experienced migration or who belong to more than one culture. An emotionally moving challenge to traditional attitudes towards one's own culture and the others emerges, a highly poetic expression of human diversity and similarity. Ping Chong, born in Chinatown/New York, has been creating theatre productions that tour worldwide for over three decades. His work has won many awards.
