Resembling black ravens, teachers carrying blackboards on their backs make their way through the mountains of Kurdistan in search of pupils.. They not only use the blackboards for teaching, but also as shields, as shelters and as panniers. On their way through the mountains, they have various encounters: with children involved in smuggling, and with old men searching for a home.
