Since the 1980s Liu Sola has experimented with a specific mixture of widely divergent musical styles. She fuses traditional tone colours and instrumental skills with the vibe and sensuality of the blues.
In the program “Sola Hard”, a Chinese ensemble of traditional and classically trained instrumentalists will be joined by three members of the contemporary American jazz and rock scene. Here free improvisation will coexist on equal terms with the score, while a variety of musical approaches and improvisational freedoms will develop and interweave in the course of the concert.The performers
