Armenia's music is a wealth of styles and genres that are rich in contrast: one can hear, in addition to the aforementioned monodic vocal and instrumental pieces, rhythmic more aggressive, colourful rural and urban dance melodies, that are played by a professionally trained ensemble of musicians."
