Ricky Randimbiarison Christian Andrianjanaka Zafimaneva Randriamazoto Mbasalala Sengemanana Andrianaiva Razafimoramisa"Musically and vocally, the four are in command of all registers and directions of style.... . Elements from Oceania and Southeast Asia are virtuously implemented: Polyphony in high octaves and parallel directing of the voices remind one of the songs from the social and Tonga islands in the Polynesian area, the raw, breathy singing - meant to imitate the snorting of the zebu - reminds one of the onomatopoeial ecstasy of Balinese kedak songs, rich melismatics in all voices makes the Arabian influence obvious. The proximity of the African mainland is evident in the strong rhythms, in the rhythmic complexity of the voices and in the alternate singing between the lead singer and the chorus; the western church music has noticeably influenced the polyphonic singing. ... Together, they create an extremely appealing mixture, that one could imagine coming from anyplace in the world, however due to this quality must be from Madagascar. It makes one want to hear more from this still foreign country." (Neue Zeitschrift für Musik)
