Afro-American Rituals in Cult and Art
The project "Dialogue with the Gods - Face of the Gods" (exhibit, lectures and symposium, dance and theatre performances and music) explores the continuity and transformation of African artistic and philosophical traditions in both Americas. In 1998, the exhibit "Face of the Gods: Altars and Rituals of Africa and the African Americas" showed how Africans and their descendants in South, Central and North America perpetuate and transform elements of their spiritual tradition in new contexts.
